Service Project Ideas

 

Interested in lending a helping hand to your community but don't know where to start? Here is a list of ideas to get your brainstorming and planning started:

 

Spruce up the community

Help neighbors paint and repair their homes

Remove graffiti (Clark County has a program to help)

Paint a mural over graffiti

Plant flowers in an area that could use some sprucing up

 

Prevent drug/alcohol abuse

Create/distribute flyers to increase awareness drug awareness

Organize and invite local police to present drug awareness assembly

Invite Local drugs and alcohol prevention agencies to present programs

Conduct a "Dry Prom" or "Prom Promise" campaign

 

Help the environment

Set up a recycling system in your neighborhood

Hold a drive to collect items for recycling

Organize a carpooling campaign

Create a biking or walking campaign

Test water in local lakes/streams

Plant flowers

 

Help younger children

Tutor children in various school subjects

Help a student improve their English

Help younger children learn to read

Do a book cleaning

Read to kids at a local school or library

Invite them to volunteer with you

Collect clothing/food for younger children

Hold a teddy bear drive for children

Help the homeless
Help cook or serve a meal at a local homeless shelter
Do a clothing or food drive for a local shelter
Make care packages with toothbrushes, shampoo, etc
