Seasons of Service is a national program provided by Points of Light Foundation that encourages civic engagement and service throughout the year. Each of these 'seasons' consists of either a day or week devoted to helping other with a specific theme or purpose. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day January 15, 2007 Dr. King's
legacy of service to others lives on as communities across the country
make it "A day on, not a day off."
National and Global Youth Service Day April 20-22, 2007
Millions of youth will engage in meaningful service
projects on National and Global Youth Service Day, the world's largest
service event. The Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada is proud to be

Howard Watts III. National Volunteer Week April 15-21, 2007
"Inspire by Example" is the theme of this week devoted to
recognizing the efforts of volunteers at local, state, and national
levels through celebrations, awards, and projects. Join Hands Day May 5, 2007
Youth and adults volunteer together on this national day
of service. Leaders and future leaders work to strengthen their
community and build intergenerational friendships. Community Build Day August 4, 2007 The Financial
Services Roundtable assigns this day to be the physical manifestation of
what its member companies do all year to build the communities they
serve. In 2006 the Roundtable will have more than 50 builds nationwide. My Good Deed September 11, 2007 The purpose of
My Good Deed is to encourage people everywhere to set aside time every
September 11 to perform good deeds of their choice to help others in
need. In this way, we hope to keep alive forever, in our memories and
actions, the spirit of giving and selfless service that unified our
nation following the terrorist attacks. Kids Care Week October 21-27, 2007
During this week, culminating on Make A Difference Day,
kids focus on learning about a social and using service to have a
positive impact on their communities. Make A Difference Day October 27, 2007
Millions of volunteers across the country do service
projects to help make a difference in their communities on this national
day of service. Family Volunteer Day November 17, 2007
Families across America work together in volunteer
service to strengthen their families, communities, local businesses, and
non-profit organizations.
