Project Leader Training

Agency: Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada

Description:

Are you interested in assuming a more active role in your community? Are you the kind of person who can inspire others to do their best? Then attend this training and become a Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada (VCSN) Project Leader (PL)!

Each VCSN managed project is facilitated by a trained PL who ensures our volunteer projects are fun, meaningful and successful. We are seeking to help organizations expand their capcity while ensuring a positive volunteer experience for those who participate and need your help to do it!

This fun, informative two-hour training will share the basics you need to know to decide if being a PL is right for you.  We'll answer questions like:

  • What does the VCSN do?
  • How do I fit in to VCSN goals by being a PL?
  • What does it really take to lead others in volunteering?

PL's typically enjoy volunteering, have a desire to help others volunteer and the dedication to commit to making their selected project great.  New PL's will have the opportunity to work with VCSN staff and/or an experienced PL mentor to learn leadership skills, communication skills and people skills that are vital to helping expand the work of organizations within our community.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to become a PL.  We recommend some knowledge and/or prior experience volunteering prior to attending this training.
