Agency: Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada
Description:
Are you an experienced muralist interested in sharing your
talents? Would you like to help lead volunteers in painting murals
throughout southern Nevada? The Volunteer Center is looking to expand our
pool of talented muralists to help with corporate service projects, national
days of service and more. National days of service include but are not
limited to MLK Day (January), National Volunteer Week (April), Day of Service
and Remembrance (September) and Make a Difference Day (October). Mural
projects are located throughout southern Nevada during other times of the year
for corporate and group service projects.
Muralists will meet with the organization receiving the
mural to conceptualize the murals design. The muralist must be able to
provide color sketches for the organization to approve. Supplies are
provided by the Volunteer Center typically including primary colors of paint,
brushes and drop cloths. Muralists should be able to provide a supply
list upon approval of the design. The muralist must be available prior to
the project date to sketch the mural onto the wall and the day of the project
to supervise volunteers who will be painting the mural. Muralists
typically are mixing paint and supervising the day of the project. After
the project muralists will be allowed to return to complete any touch up or
detail work that is needed. Muralists are able to take photos of the work
before, during and after the work is completed.
Prefer
muralists with past experience working with volunteers. Muralists should
have a portfolio and references available upon request. Muralists do not
need to be available for all days of service. The Volunteer Center will
typically email all mural team members to see who is available prior to a
project date anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months in advance. If you are
interested in sharing your talents within southern Nevada please express
interest and a staff member will contact you with additional details on
upcoming projects. Past projects include MLK Day 2010
which engaged community volunteers and the Target/NACE
Project that engaged a corporate team of volunteers. Please only express interest in one date/time for this projet. Details will be emailed to you after you have signed up. Signing up for more than one date/time is not necessary.
