The Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada invites you to nominate an outstanding individual or group of volunteers in Southern Nevada for the 8th Annual Community Enrichment Awards. The Community Enrichment Awards recognize, honor and reward exceptional community service. Every year hundreds, if not thousands, of Las Vegans selflessly donate their time and energy to help others, solve problems and strengthen our community. Their contributions deserve our thanks and our congratulations. With the generous support of our sponsors, we are presenting the Community Enrichment Awards to honor five categories of volunteers: Education, Group, Individual, Senior and Youth. Three finalists in each category will be selected by a panel of community leaders, and the winners will be announced at the celebration luncheon on May 2, 2008. Winners are awarded $1,000 for their qualifying nonprofit organizations. The youth winner is awarded a $500 scholarship, along with a $500 contribution for his or her agency. Each finalist receives a $250 grant for the organization served. In addition, all winners and finalists will be nominated for the Daily Point of Light Award, a program sponsored by the Points of Light & Hands On Network, the Corporation for National and Community Service and the Knights of Columbus, to honor those who have made a commitment to connect Americans through service to help meet critical needs in their communities. We are proud to report that many of our past winners have been named Daily Points of Light.
