Be the Change. Volunteer.
How can you continue to LIVE UNITED?
Simply make a short video explaining how you're working to improve the education, income and health of people in southern Nevada. Submit your video to the LIVE UNITED Story Search and you could be featured in United Way's national ad campaign in 2010.
Here's how:
1. Record your story in no more than 2 minutes of video.
2. Upload the video between June 21 and September 30 to LIVEUNITED.tv.
3. Get your friends to vote for your story.
If you submit a video, please post the link on our facebook page and/or email it to NikiJ@uwsn.org so we can encourage voting for your story!
Don't know how to make a video? It's easier than you think! You can use a camcorder, a cell phone, a digital camera, a computer or anything else that records video. Stories will be judged on substance, not production quality, so don't sweat the details.
Want to learn more? Visit LIVEUNITED.tv. Please share with 5 friends! Let's show the rest of the country and we LIVE UNITED in southern Nevada!
Bon Jovi's Volunteer Effort
Jon Bon Jovi spoke passionately (and performed) at June's National Conference on Volunteering & Service. Watch this video to learn more about Jon's role as an ambassador for the Service Movement:
Answer the President's Call to Serve America by becoming an AmeriCorps*VISTA in Las Vegas!
AmeriCorps*VISTA is the national service program designed specifically to fight poverty. VISTA members commit to serve full-time for a year at a nonprofit organization or local government agency, working to fight illiteracy, improve health services, create businesses, strengthen community groups, and much more. With passion, commitment, and hard work, VISTA members create or expand programs designed to bring individuals and communities out of poverty.
AmeriCorps*VISTA members receive a subsistence allowance and may be eligible for Education awards upon completion of service.
